Etherial Pregnancy Portrait in the heart of Whirinaki
It’s a special time for all involved when you are expecting a new addition to your family.
As a photographer you feel blessed to be asked and allowed to capture these special moments.
When it came to designing Wakaiti’s photo shoot, I knew I wanted to keep things closely linked to Whirinaki – where her and her family are based.
Once we had scoped out this perfect magical paddock full of carrot weed, all the other etherial elements of the shoot fell into place.
The purple hydrangeas from home were perfect for a floral head-dress and the flowing cream dress complimented the whole light & airy theme of the photo shoot.
Now for the hard part – taming the light.
Althought this was shot early morning for nice directional light I wanted to soften the shadows cast by the sun…so in stepped Wakaiti’s lovely sister – Kowhai – who became my assisstant for the day.
She lifted and angled a big & heavy diffuser for me so I could get these perfect shots…Kowhai Dalton – you rock!
For the finale, we got Wakaiti’s daughter to dress up and join her mum & soon to be sister in the photos. With the help of granddad we even managed to get a few cute smiles out of her too.
I had so much fun on this shoot, and just really want to thank Wakaiti and her family for being super easy to work with…
Thanks all, and I can’t wait for our next photo shoot adventure together.

The Lighthouse MotelA professional real estate package for a Hokianga icon.
When I was approached by locals, Debbie & Brent to photograph not only their home, but business; The Lighthouse Motel, I knew it was going to take a special photo package to best showcase their unique property.
With extensive interiors & a large exterior grounds surrounding the motel, both ground shots & Aerial photography were used to show off this amazing Hokianga business opportunity.
Come morning and/or afternoon light, getting the best angles fot the perfect shot and assessing all sorts of weather conditions is what it took to create this comprehensive package.
Living locally really allowed me to come and go from the property and gave me the best opportunities for the best photographs.
